Find Books for a Fraction of the Price

As we head towards spring, you may want to clean out some old boxes. If they include books, don't give them away. You could help others save money.
The website, Bookins.com, can save you cash on books. You post books that you own but want to get rid of on the site. Each book that you list has a point value, determined by Bookins.com, and you earn these points when you post it.
Points allow you to buy books that others have posted. Each book costs $4.49, which is a flat shipping cost for each book.
Joanne Carr has been using this site for a year now.
"Harrisonburg is a small enough town that its sometimes hard to find the specialty books that you want," says Carr. "So with Bookins you have access to a network of hundreds of thousands of books and people willing to trade them to you."
This can be very nice, especially if you don't want to pay the bookstore price.
Last summer, Carr's husband wanted to read all the Grisham books. She says they run about $25 each at the book store. Instead of paying full price at the store, she put them on her Want List on Bookins.com.
"There were about six Grisham titles that we didn't have," says Carr. "The way for me to get those titles was list them all on Bookins, and then as people had them available to trade, at $4.50 a piece, they came to me. So we have them all now."
Instead of paying $150 for six books at the store, Carr got all six for just $27 through Bookins.com.
Registering at Bookins.com is free and there is also a service available for DVDs.
Actually trading the books is also simple because you can print shipping labels off on your home computer and leave the package in your mailbox for the post office to pick up..
