| Wonderful Customer Support | | When I sent a frantic email because I was not receiving email
notifications and then the server was down, I was amazed that there

amazon.com I realized that there had to be an easier way.
I would rather trade my books for something else, than sell for pennies!

I love that there is free postage for shipping out (something amazon

| And now a trading map! | | I've been a happy member since the early days of Bookins but
never 'bothered' to add a testimonial....it seemed to me that you had
plenty of folks who would sing your praises. But with the advent of the
new Google map, I had to take a minute to say that you folks are the
BEST! What fun to see a map of all the places my books have gone
and where others originated! And how great to be able to see other
books listed for trade by members who have already sent me books.
It's not so much that I can see other books from a speedy and reliable
shipper, but that when I find a trader with similar tastes I can easily see
if there's anything available on their trade list that would appeal to me.

CD, then MP3, and downloads. I was always happy with service from other
clubs, but felt the plans were expensive, or restrictive on the time you could
keep a rental. Then I found Bookins. Now, I have a very modest cost per
book, I hold them as long as I like, I do not owe them back on a deadline, I
share them with friends at no risk to copyright law, and I "recycle" them to
other people when I am ready. It is the perfect model for my reading pace

| It's like trading at a local used bookstore, without the grumpy desk-clerk! | | I've had a good time trading so far, and love filling my bookshelves

The customer service team is incredible and personal, and keep you and

The point system is very fair, I traded a few dvd-box sets and that

| Thought E-Reader Would Be The Answer To My Space Problem.... | | But then I met bookins.com!
I found bookins.com in a magazine of my mother's. I've been an avid
reader as long as I can remember. Mom was a teacher and she still
shakes her head in amazement as she tells people, "Robbie is the only
kid I ever told to 'stop reading!'" (okay, that was usually at bedtime, or
I'll admit it, the supper table)
Needless to say, I have acquired a massive collection in my thirty-hrm
years. (The last time I moved, the movers' were heard to ponder how
many books a single person could have. We won't tell them about the
ones I loaded into my pick-up and moved on my own.)
If I have a fond enough memory of a book, it will stay on my shelf for
years. I'll admit it, I get emotionally attached. They don't even have to
be that good (or at least that's how many seem now) to become
keepers.
You can imagine the pain involved in parting with my many treasures.
Recently, I had to scale down to a one bedroom apt. (in the last one,
the spare room was essentially a library with beds in it) This, sadly,
meant my friends had to go. I've given them to the library by the
hundreds. Each time I would donate, I'd feel confident they'd be read
again, even if they were just put in a book sale to earn money for the
library. Imagine my horror when, volunteering for a 'friends of the
library' book sale event, I found that the ones that went unsold went to
either a) a nursing home library; b) a recycling plant; or c) THE
DUMP!!! That's right, fellow book-lover's, the LIBRARY THREW OUT
THE ONES THAT NO ONE WANTED THAT DAY!!!!
After my stroke I went home and made a list of ISBN's to post. Every
time I post a group of books, I get orders. It's slower than donating, but
at least I know they'll be read again.
I love getting books and DVD's at such a great price.
I have to say, the best part is the staff of bookins.com! I've only dealt
with Rene and Debra, but they have been fabulous. I'm beginning to
think they have someone using a Blackberry type of device to be on-
call to answer emails. I don't think I've waited more than an hr for an
answer, even to my oddest questions.
I had one problem with an order. Told them about it, got a credit for
shipping the next day as well as the return of my points!
They are amazing.

| Constant supply of books! | | I joined bookins several months ago. It took a while to start getting the
books I really wanted, but once I did start receiving them, it didn't stop!
I now have more books than I will be able to read any time soon and I
am thrilled about that! I am no longer dropping large amounts of
money at the book store. I just wait until bookins sends it my way. It
has also allowed me to send my large collection of used books to new
homes. I am really enjoying the site now. My one disclaimer is that it is
sometimes difficult to find books about specific interests. The good

| Great way to give what you want, and get what you want!! | | I love the whole notion of barter and am psyched that it is, in fact, alive and well once
again. There are lots of options out there in terms of book/DVD bartering and I decided I
would give several of them a try and see what "worked best for me." Among the many
things I love about bookins there are three factors that really set it apart from the rest: (1)
THE POINT SYSTEM!! having the books your sending out match up with the books you
want is not as simple as it sounds, in fact, hey, my interests are varied, and so are my
books, but this way you don't have to worry about "matching up" with another user (2) you
pay for your shipping, they pay for theirs-- to me this is great because you don't get stuck
footing the bill for a book that just happens to weigh a lot when you're receiving a 6 oz.
DVD (3) BACKORDER!! Crazy as it sounds (since we usually think of this as a negative
thing) it's great that you can add items to your list that aren't currently available, bookins
has enough users that books come in and out quickly, so you don't need to limit what you
want based on what happens to be available at the time.
Oh lastly- bookins TRULY has great and rapid customer service. Bartering involves trust
(or at least a little faith in humanity) and the bookins staff basically provides you with a
huge safety net of mediation.

| The Environmentally Friendly Way to Support Your Avid Reading Habit | | When I first saw the website, I thought to myself: "What is the catch?" I
was a bit shy about signing up. I finally decided: "Nothing ventured,
nothing gained!" The worst thing I could lose was $4.49 or a book that
was collecting dust on the shelf. This way people who want your books
will read your books, the books will stop just sitting around gathering
dust, they will not wind up in a landfill, and they will help reduce the
carbon footprint our reading habits may cause. I even recycle as
much of the packing material as I can. For example: My first hard
cover book came in plastic bag, in a box, and packed with bubble
wrap; the first hard cover book I sent out used all the same packaging
material. The postage paid label you print out is clear. I have placed
outgoing books in my mailbox, in the blue one out in front of the post
office, and given them to the postal personnel over-the-counter. All
seem to travel about the same speed. Most trades have been
completed within the week. If you give it an honest try, you will like it

| Love, love, love! | | What a great service that Bookins offers! I hated seeing all of my
books sitting on the shelves begging to be read, but loved them too
much to sell them at a yard-sale or get less than nothing for them at the

already reaped many benefits! This is a great way to relocate books I

| Other sites cannot compare | | I switched from another book trading Web site to Bookins in October
because I realized that half the books on my wish list had been there
for six months to a year! After switching, I was able to pick up several
of those books immediately through fellow Bookins readers - boy, was

| Better than the other sites | | Bookins wins hands down. Here is how they compare: I have gotten
amazingly good and bad books from other sites, but how are you treated
you when a problem occurs? Well, I contacted the sender, who was ugly
and refused return of the items (I requested three books, what I got
was nothing that I requested: wrong editions, wrong ISBN, and wrong
covers and one had what appeared to have soaked in pet urine. Then, I
when I contacted the site owner, I was told this new member would
catch on and I should cut them slack (no, my points weren't returned
to me). When I responded that this was unfair to me and I would send
these the books to the site owner as proof, my account was terminated
(and I lost all my unused points)! While another site allows a few
select members out of thousands to access the good books prior to
"freeing" them to the rest of the membership, so you can't get the
more expensive or high demand books since these select few have first
access - very disappointing and great waste of time.
Glad I found Bookins, I have found the staff extremely helpful and

| Greatest thing since sliced bread! | | I used to take an old book that I've read and put it somewhere
conspicuous for some random person to find and enjoy for free. At the
park, on top of the mailbox at the apartment building I lived at, on a
table at a restaurant. But now I can reach a HUGE number of people
without leaving the comfort of my home! How cool is that? It's the
ultimate in recycling. Save a tree and spread the joy of reading at the
same time, plus there's the bonus of smelling an old book! (Don't tell
me you never sniffed an old book before! Slyly ducking down an isle at
the library and stuffing your nose into the binding to secretly fill your
nostrils with that familiar smell of some old book.) But I digress!

about it, not quite understanding the premise. After entering into
graduate school, I came across it once again and wondered why I had

bookswap site is definitely different from others that I belong to. The
major difference is that I can now get the more popular books so much
faster instead of waiting for months and even nearly 2 years before I

Theselection and genre is very diverse, with something for almost
anyone. It takes at least 2 weeks to get the books you earned points
for. The only thing I would change is the ability to select the order in

| Keeping my bookshelves blissfully available for the books I truly love... | | As a librarian, I do not believe in owning books, except those that I
either read once a year without fail or wish to share with my children
someday. I do occasionally buy books, preparing for a trip or on a
whim, and I do receive them as gifts, but I hate having books I didn't
really enjoy or don't want to read again taking up space on my

| This site has saved my life! | | I was reading the Sunday paper when I came across this little article
about a site called Bookins.com. That Monday I immediately went
over to my daughter's to use their computer to investigate this site in
further detail and the partnership began that day. I joined up and
began listing my books on the website and I am happy to announce I
have "swapped" at least 25 books and received an equal amount in
return. My love for books all began in the Second Grade when the
teacher discovered I wasn't lying when I said I couldn't read. I had
slipped thru the system and past along to the next grade and couldn't
read my name much less the words in a book. She quickly set about
correcting that problem, along with my parents and sister's help and
now I read a book a day or at least one every two days. I can't seem to
get enough books and what is "enough books"? I have 150 plus listed
with Bookins.com and that doesn't even begin to cover the hundreds I
have piled and stacked everywhere in my house and my daughter's
house. I vow when I enter a bookstore that I am only going to look and
in the same breath, I am purchasing no less than four books to take
home and then list on Bookins.com. Bookins.com has saved my life
and my relationship with my children. I treasure my books and it helps
to know that there are people wanting my books, who will treat them
with respect and have the desire to read them like I did at one time.
And to top it off, they have books I can "purchase" in return and
Bookins.com has made the process of acquiring more books painless
to my pocketbook. Thank You Bookins.com for starting the site and
helping people like myself to be able to "purchase" more books and
then trade them for valuable points to get more. If anyone has the time,

| This is the best thing to happen for books EVER!!! | | So we decided to buy an RV, and become full timers. Wonderful
lifestyle, except what do we do with the house full of stuff. Well my
library, which at one time was an entire room came with me in the
motorhome. We have books under pillows, under chairs, disguised as

| The Most Amazing Book Trading Website I Have Ever Used! | | I found this website actually from the One Spirit book club. Someone had written a review
about a book featured there and mentioned that she preferred Bookins. I had never heard
of it, so I thought I would check it out.
Upon the first moment I arrived on the homepage to this website I was amazed! Free
books? There must be a catch! The only catch was shipping... but $3.99 no matter what
size or edition book?? I had to try this out.
Well I have been with Bookins for a few months now. I have exchanged books back an
forth. Let me tell you, I have NOT been disappointed! I get so excited when I receive and
email saying I have a book on the way, or that a new home has been found for one of my
beloved books.
I was doing book crossings for awhile, but never heard any reports on the books I would
lay out for people to take. This is much more fulfilling for a bibliophile like myself.

| The best solution for a pack rat! | | I read about several book-swapping internet sites in a magazine about
six months ago. It became clear to me very quckly that Bookins was
the easiest and most efficient swapping site out there. The web site is
easy to navigate and it's great to search for books both by author and
by category. But what made me choose this site over the others was
the way I could print out postage and drop books off in any post office
box. The other sites require you to go the post office and pay for the
outbound shipping up front, plus you can't track the shipment. Bookins
handles all the details and tracks books from start to finish. I love used

| A Wonderful Experience | | I live in a small town without a book store and a library that tries, but a month ago I was
forced to use a walker for a few days and couldn't get to the library and found this site!
What a deal that was...good things happen from bad things....
I'd always collected my read books and given them to the library and all of a sudden there
was a better way! I decided to try it and it's wonderful. Mitchell is very attentive to
problems and I have more books in my 'pile' than I can read right now. How great is that?
Plus the books I'd love to read are at my fingertips. All it takes is a few minutes listing the
books I'd like to trade and that is relatively painless!
I can't say enough good things about this plan! I love it. I love the concept. It's like

you have to wait until the auction is over for a book and you don't

| It's like a Christmas present in the mailbox ALL the time. | | I've been very pleased with the quality of the books so far. I've
purchased many used books over the years, and some of them are in
poor condition. People tell me the books I give them look like they
haven't been read. I see there are many out there like myself who don't
eat and read at the same time, so thier books are in good shape.
I like the recycling aspect of the service. I even recycle padded
envelopes.

| I love it! I love it! I love it! | | I got my first request for one of my books before I finished entering
the first 20. I immediately printed the label and it's in the mailbox
less than 10 minutes after joining.
Since my good friend that used to take them from me passed away, I had
been accumulating my books and taking them to the local library every
so often. Now I can buy books for $3.99 and have a convenient way to
pass them on to someone that I know will read them...the best of both
worlds...

bookins.com by accident. I'm extremely pleased. The books I receive
have been in great condition. I'm very happy to send books and
audiobooks out to other readers who will enjoy them as much as I
enjoyed them. The point system seems extremely fair and how can
you beat $3.99 for the items you receive (half.com shipping is $3.25
for paperbacks and $3.70 for hardcovers)? Printing out postage is
ultra-easy and customer service has been wonderful. Anyone can do
this! If the book you want is not currently available, then do
an "unposted search" and wishlist it. I have a huge pile of "to read"
books anyway and I've received several popular books that were
previously unavailable in just a few weeks of membership. I am ultra-

| Great way to get rid of and receive books! | | I found this website by accident in searching for major book
distributors two days ago. Read the info on the site and thought why
not, give it at try! I now have two of the books on my wish list in transit!
You really can't beat the $3.99 price tag since most used books go for
around $3.50 and considering the price of gas here in SoCal and the
distance to drive anywhere, it is a savings. Plus, it's something to look
forward to besides getting bills in the mail all the time. The fact that I
can send books withougt the post office hassle is also a big plus. I
have plenty of brown grocery bags for mailing them in (a great way to

| Get great used books from a very trust-worthy site. | | I have really enjoyed this site for getting good used books, and for
finding titles I've wanted to add to my library. The price is good and the
shopping is convenient!
Most of the books I have received have been in excellent condition,
considering they are used. And some have looked brand new. What I
really appreciate about this site, is that they work with you if there is a
problem with quality, or any issue at all. This is a very honest and trust-
worthy site. And you can't beat the price - $3.99. A real deal!
However, I haven't really "traded" many of my own books. My trade list
seems to be in a genre that isn't that much in demand. And the mass
market books I do have are already listed by many others. So I find
myself purchasing extra points to cover my own wish list! Just a word of
caution to those of you who love books, love to read, and love a good
deal.....this site can be very addictive!

| What a deal! | | I can't tell you how many books I've received through this service that
still have hefty price tags on them from Costco and the large chain
stores; they are all here. Now I'm glad I didn't buy them new because
other avid readers have and are trading them with me!
Searching for books by subject has helped me find books for my son
and husband too. And if the book isn't all that great, you can simply list
it and trade it back. Bookins has allowed me to read authors I might
never have run across. I've sampled far more fiction since signing up
for this service than I've ever read before. I'll buy reference books and
good historical accounts, but fiction I've always hesitated to spring for.
It's a good deal.

| Easy to use and great customer service! | | I'm a hardcore bibliophile with eclectic tastes. I've been teased by
friends that I'm an addict, I rarely go anywhere without at least one
book in my bag.
I swap books on several sites and Bookins remains one of my favorites
for many reasons. There's always a good selection of new books and the
search categories are user friendly. Also, I'm not at a computer all day
and Bookins automatic shipping of wishlist books as they become available
is very helpful. I don't have to worry I'll miss a book because
I couldn't "beat the crowd" to request it; Bookins sends it
automatically. This feature was a godsend in locating a copy of a
popular paperback my mother wanted for Christmas.
Two of my favorite things about Bookins are the easy shipping directly
from my home and the speedy and personal customer service. I can't
always make it to the post office several times a week, and with
Bookins I don't have to, just print and hand it to my postal carrier.
That is perfect for my schedule.
And this site has the best customer service I've encountered with
bookswapping; whenever I need clarification or help with something, I
get an email response quickly. They promise within 24 hours, but I've
don't think I've ever waited anywhere near that long.

Christine Feehan, was putting out a book in hard cover only and I really
didn't want to spend the $20 to get it. I stumbled onto this site and

than their space to shelve, which would be most readers. Since joining
a couple of years ago, I've traded dozens of books, kept the ones I
couldn't bear to part with and passed on those I could. As a writer, I

The best part is now receiving books in my mail box, no longer do I have to drive to a book store or my local library, and saving gas is not bad either.

| The next level | | I had some books that I wanted to sell so I listed them on E-bay, after checking their site every day for weeks to see if someone wanted any of the books listed I gave up. That was a frustrating experience.
Enter Bookins, a very good friend of mine recommended this site and the first time I used it someone wanted one of my books and I found a book I wanted. This is really an easy and convenient way to trade books.
Until Bookins it was a hit and miss situation, now you people have taken it to the next level. Simple and beautiful and worthy of my reading time.

I am a big fan of Mary Higgins Clark, and have been told by several friends to read Meg O'Brien. She is supposed to be like MHC, but with more edge. | It's like Christmas | | List up the books you want and periodically you get books in the mail.
It seems as if they are gifts which someone psychically knows you
want. There is no guarantee when you will receive them and you may
forget you even added them to your list. Then suddenly one will show
up as a random surprise, just for the cost of the shipment. I highly
recommend this site also, for it's ease of use as well as the great
customer service I've received.
